I'm here. Is anyone else?

Well, I'm a one toe in the pool kind of person, so it takes a while for me to make the jump. Here I am. I hope it warms up soon. Aaand that's enough of that metaphor, thank you. In case you were wondering, (or not) the title refers to my hobbies and sometimes to my mental state. I knit things on circular needles, I spin, and I view things from all angles before making a stand, which can take a while.

I'm currently located in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I'm a native Southern Californian, and very proud of it. Although I've been gone for over six years, I still think of it as the center of the universe. I love living here but directions should read 'go to the middle of nowhere and turn south.' I just arrived in May, 2006, to join most of the rest of my family. I spent the five years before that in the frozen north, also known as the Bay Area of Northern California. Yeah, I know all you Easterners are thinking "what a wimp!". Hey, I get cold when it drops below 70 F. That's one thing that is so nice about being here. You don't have to check the weather report before you get dressed in the morning. It's always the same. As long as you have an umbrella in the car, and a sweater in the office (air conditioning, y'know), it's the same type of clothes every day. Paradise.

As far as the rest of me; I'm short, I have long brown hair, and I've recently dropped a large amount of weight. I don't recommend my method, which is called being sick. I have Crohn's Disease and may do posts later on that subject. Mostly it's boring and I try not to focus on it. I'm much better off than a lot of people. I used to describe myself as short and squat but may change that to short and zaftig (jfgi).

Enough for a first post, I believe. More to come.
